About

Angela Weber-Thompson, BSc. MSW RSW

Therapist and Clinical Social Worker

Walking beside people through their therapy journey is a great privilege and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I have been a therapist for over ten years and get told over and over again by my clients how easy it was for them to let their guard down, to build trust and comfort, and to begin to transform their hopes for therapy into meaningful growth and change.  I exude warmth and genuineness and I know that great therapy cannot happen without a strong relationship between client and therapist.

I work with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, including children five years of age and older. I draw heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) techniques. I excel in the treatment of anxiety and traumatic stress disorders, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is an evidence–based treatment for PTSD that can also be applied to treat Anxiety, Phobias, Self-Esteem, and a multitude of other concerns.

I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2007 and am a registered member with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
